1st GreenWaterDrone Pilot Operation

On Friday, November 6th, 2020, the GreenWaterDrone project (www.greenwaterdrone.eu) will carry out a large pilot implementation of new technologies in Messenia, with the assistance of the "Department of Rural Economy and Veterinary" (DAOK) in Trifylia. The pilot implementation includes conducting flights over selected fields of various crops, collecting data and performing water stress calculations through its application platform.

In the pilot implementation, which has been thoroughly designed in the previous period, participate the technological partners of the project: Agricultural University of Athens, with the general scientific supervision of the process, ALTUS LSA with the main responsibility for the perfect execution of flights and data recording, CITE with the operational responsibility of application software and University of Peloponnese, with the responsibility of checking perfection and evaluating the results of the project. Finally, ITCS will use the results for refining the business perspective of the system.

The preparation of the pilot implementation starts on Thursday 5th with the supervision of the fields while on Friday 6th November it will take place:

  • Flight over the selected fields
  • Collection of climate and cultivation data
  • Download and process data from applications
  • Export of Indicators on water stress of crops and their irrigation needs.
